- Description
- Join award-winning Myrtle Beach author Caleb Wygal for a special author talk featuring his newest novel, Death in Surfside, the ninth book in the Myrtle Beach Mystery Series. This event will include a guest appearance by Professor Erin Hackett of Coastal Carolina University, who collaborated with Wygal on the story's scientific and technical elements. Together, they will dive into the real-world science behind the book’s fictional research firm, OceanAi, including how underwater drones equipped with artificial intelligence are used to map the ocean floor. The discussion will explore how current and emerging marine technologies can inspire realistic fiction—and how fact and imagination intersect in modern mystery writing.
