Description

A Death Cafe is a time and place where people, often strangers, come to share cake, sip tea or coffee, and discuss death openly and honestly. The aim is to increase awareness about death in order to help people make the most of their (finite) lives. There is never an intention of leading participants to any conclusion, product or course of action. Interesting conversations are guaranteed!

We’ll embrace the principles of the International DeathCafé movement that began in London, as we will try to foster a deeper understanding of death and its role in shaping our lives.

There's no agenda, no sales pitches — just authentic conversations driven by the interests of the participants. All are welcome to attend any/all sessions and can participate as much as they are comfortable. However, it's important to note that this is not a grief support group or counseling session — it's a space for questioning, sharing, exploration and connection.

These are no-charge events. Brian Long, who has led more than 76 Death Cafes in Pennsylvania and Myrtle Beach, is our facilitator.

*Minors under the age of 17 are required to have parental consent to attend.

*Each Cafe meeting is limited to 11 participants.
